Martin KnudsenParticipantHi,
I have installed the 4GB image.
When I go to the information page on the EV3 it says that the
firmware version is 1.0.0.0 and image version is also 1.0.0.0 and the mono version is 2.10.9.Is this the newest version?
Because I am trying to get the EDIMAX wifi to work and I read somewhere that you need firmware version
1.04 for that (but I cannot find that version for downloading).I can connnect to a wifi on the brick and it says success and gives me the 10.0.0.1 IP adress.
But when I then try to run something from xamarin I simply cannot get a connection to the device (and I have installed all the plugins etc).Any advice on this situation and if it is a firmware problem or something else?

Tcm0ParticipantThe 1.04 part is only necessary if you want to use the stick with the official firmware.
How do you connect? With wifi or usb? You have to adjust the IP if you use Wifi.June 17, 2015 at 06:26 #5417
Martin KnudsenParticipantOkay, so since I am using the monobrick firmware, not official, then that should work.
Yes, as I wrote I use the EDIMAX and I also connect with that (wifi).
Yes, I have already set the IP adress (10.0.1.1 as indicated on the brick in the infomation screen) in the
Options->monobrick->Ip adress field in xamarin studio.
But still it says not possible to connect when running a program.June 17, 2015 at 07:59 #5418
Martin KnudsenParticipantOkay, now I have answer for my own question – maybe it will help others.
I simply rebooted the brick (with the monobrick firmware of course on the sd-card) and after rebooting it
now got a different IP adresse for the wifi than 10.0.1.1 as it had before.
And now it works!June 17, 2015 at 10:16 #5420
Anders SøborgKeymasterHi there

Martin KnudsenParticipantOkay great.
So wifi works with the monobrick firmware, but I also now just tried to get the EDIMAX wifi to
work with the EV3 firmware.
But this does not work – not even with the lego IDE software. But my firmware (official lego firmware) is 1.06H, so shouldn’t the EDIMAX work on that also for wifi?

Tcm0ParticipantThe EDIMAX stick only works with the 1.04 firmware which is modified by fans. Lego didn’t include support for the stick.

Anders SøborgParticipantWhy worry about version 1.04 when you have MonoBrick firmware 🙂
