Helmut WunderParticipanterror unzip imagefile 4GB by WinRar:
zip folder: imagefile_4GB.img.gz! C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Helmut\Desktop\temp\imagefile_4GB.img.gz: Unerwartetes Archivende.
! C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Helmut\Desktop\temp\imagefile_4GB.img.gz: CRC-Fehler in imagefile_4GB.img. Die Datei ist fehlerhaft.May 10, 2014 at 14:56 #4282
Helmut WunderParticipantthe same about the 2 GB imagefile:
! C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Helmut\Desktop\temp\imagefile_2GB.img.gz: Unerwartetes Archivende.
! C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Helmut\Desktop\temp\imagefile_2GB.img.gz: CRC-Fehler in imagefile_2GB.img. Die Datei ist fehlerhaft.BTW, what is the advantage having the 512kB or 2GB or 4GB image?

Anders SøborgKeymasterHi Helmut
Did your follow the instruction found here?
BTW, what is the advantage having the 512kB or 2GB or 4GB image?
Just depends on how much space you have on your SD card. If you have a large card and use a small image you will not be unable to use the full capacity of your card.

Helmut WunderParticipantDid your follow the instruction found here?
hmm – no – I followed these instruction and I used WinRar:
http://www.mindstormsforum.de/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=8254
is WinRar faulty?Just depends on how much space you have on your SD card.
I don’t get it – what is the image for?
I have a 16 GB card, but what actually is the image doing? What is a 512kB image doing, and what is the 4GB image doing better?May 10, 2014 at 20:21 #4296
Helmut WunderParticipantusing 7-zip for 4GB Image:
same error: image file is damaged
(breaks and hangs up at 99%)May 10, 2014 at 20:24 #4297
Helmut WunderParticipantcan’t you please make a standard windows zip?

Helmut WunderParticipantupdate:
after the 4th try the 4GB img now was unzipped successfully by 7-zip, no idea why it failed so often before… ❓Image appears to be o.k.,
Brick booted MONO from µSD,
sample programs listed and partially tried,
Mono version 2.11.4Now it would be very fine to have USB
– for uploading programs from PC (Visual Studio) to the EV3 Brick
– and for FW update, too,
as I dont have neither WiFi nor BT !
